It doesn't seem that long ago Frank DeSantis met otto phökuz. The weird and uncanny part; they met while Frank was blindfolded. A bit strange and not what you might think.

It was spring 1989. Frank was working on an assignment for his photography class. Homework consisted of going out to photograph with a blindfold on. He was blindfolded by a good friend and driven out to some non-descript industrial place in northeast Portland, Oregon.

After shooting the roll of 36 black and white exposures, he took off his blinders to see otto standing there, the sun behind his back.

Both of them a bit shaken and startled they immediately hit it off and became best friends.

Frank, with his knowledge and experience in graphic design, art direction, newfound love of photography, and otto. Otto brought to the mix what some might call the

daredevil and trickster side of mystery and intrigue.

Frank was never quite sure when otto would be around and nothing ever could really be planned. Otto would just show up, exactly at the right time no less, and the two would be off collaborating on some photographic project. There were times when otto would just take over completely, leaving Frank out of the picture, sort of speak.

They have joined forces on many projects throughout the years and this site contains just a sampling of their collaboration. Their collaborations have become classic, their images and ideas: statements to the creative energy that fills them both so completely.

This site contains the work of both. Some of the images are all otto, some just Frank and some, the collaborative genius of both.
